"The Buena Vista Lagoon has a long and varied history, peppered with intermittent citizen and governmental efforts at preservation. This Lagoon was California's first ecological reserve. A critical point has been reached due to severe erosion problems in the ecosystems of the Lagoon, choking the food chain and threatening wildlife. The Lagoon is in trouble. It is our territory, our responsibility. The Buena Vista Lagoon is one of the last little bits of unique nature in North County. Won't you help? You'll be happy you did."
